3-1/2″ wide MDF Flat-Stock
Most molding & millwork retailers or lumber yards sell some form of this flat-stock.
This one has a lot of uses, from wainscoting to door trim to crown molding.
I buy this exact one from Lowes Home Improvement, but I would prefer the edges not be so rounded over because I have to trim them down on my table saw to get a sharp edge.
Many suppliers carry a version of this (in different widths, too) where the edges are more angular. So just keep that in mind when you go shopping for this mdf flat-stock.
At Lowes, this flat-stock is usually located one aisle over from the molding aisle — closer to the lumber section of the store.
